Automatic Gearbox Flushing

Do you own a car with an automatic gearbox. Do you know most manufacturers have a service interval for the gearbox oil and filter to be changed. The Vag range have intervals of 38500 or 40000 miles depending on model. Most other manufacturers are the same.
